The Influence of Jordan Belforts Character in The Wolf of...
Martin Scorseseââ¬â¢s 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street is the true story of Jordan Belfort; a stock broker who scams and deceives his clients for the sole purpose of making himself rich. Belfort is a character that can best be described as a person who only has his own best intentions in mind, yet somehow has the ability to convince others that they need him in their lives. He leads his subordinates through aggressive speeches and intimidation. At a first glance the film appears as though it has a negative view towards women because of all the misogyny coming from these male characters, but the truth is that the women are the ones who have power and control throughout the majority of the film and come out on top in the end. Scorsese starts the film off with one of his signature freeze frame while Belfort provides a voice over.
